The cat in the Hat blog

The fish in, "The cat in the Hat" i think that he at the very begining he was superego but towards the end of the story he seems kinf of id. At the begining when the cat came inside the house he was superego. He was superego by telling the cat to get out and the narrator and sally that they should stop the cat because thier mother is not home. He seems like an adult that will take place and know what is right and wrong. Through out the whole story he is always demanding what it suppose to be done and what to do is right. But towards at the end of the story he seems like he is id to me. When the cat took out thing one and thing two, he say he does like them. I see that the fish seems to be id at that moment.
Also seems like in the story at the begning the fish was freak out like just freak out when the cat started to as the narrator and sally if they want fun. I find that is superego because superego could be like they get freak out at very little when they think that it's not right. Also the fish was not just freak-out it, seems like it was yelling at the cat and the narrator and sally that they are doing something wrong when thier mother is not home. Also seem like the fish is babysitting the narrator and sally instead of they babysitting themselves.
Towards the end the fish was kind of id because when it notice that everyone doesn't seems to pay any attention to it, so it seems to be acting like a child. The fishing starting to act like child, by not liking everything that is around, which he never really did in the first place. Also being selfish when he knows that the narrator actaully took actiona dn try to scoop up thing one and thing two. The fish seems to be happier toward the end because they cat is gone but still very mad because everything was all mess-up and out of place.
In conclusion, i think that the fish in, "The cat in the Hat" is superego at the begining of the story and id towards the ending of the story. The fish was like a babysitter for the narrator and sally but was acting like a child towards the end of the story. And it seems to be ego again at the end of the story when thier mother returns home. But through out the whole story the fish was superego and towards the end he was kind of an id.

persepolis blog number 2

This blog is on number 13,14,and 15.

The role of religion in persepolis is really big and strong. Religion is like the main thing in Persepolis. Religion define certain characters in the book because some certain people doesn't believe it or don't want to do it but because of thier religion they have to do it. In Persepolis  religion is really strong because they only see religion as one thing. They don't really care about other stuff accpet religion. For me or Hmong culture we use to have a rule within ourbelieve that if a girl goes out to late with her boyrfriend or a guy friend, that's against our religion, then she has to married him no  matter if they are datng or not. In the old days that rule was really strong among us. It's just like how in Persepolis they have to wear the veil. But it the boys goes out late he doesn't het anything accpet maried that girl he take out. The boys have more options to marry a lot of wives. I think that the author is making social comentary on fundamentalism. Satrapi is saying that individual they don't want believe in the religion that they have to believe or do it but in society they have too. Persepolis is  telling a story and commenting the importance of our lives by making the story interesting and also add comments on the dialogue. That makes hte sotry makes more sense and more interesting. The book suggest the shapes by having part of the story and comments that part of the life and then turn into an experience. In Persepolis the stories in there are really realistic and understandable.  Like how Uncle Anoosh's story, he did a lot of stuff that someone at the moment of time would do too. Also her parents, is also realistic, there's people who is reporters and go see what is going on. It's cool how she begins in her child hood and then goes on as a teen. Also it has a good background of her history of being an Iran girl. The relationship between past and present is good because she doesb't get you confuse on the storyline. Some story they don't really have an clear undertsand on the transition on past and present. Maybe the story makes sense and easy to understand because it's a graphic novel. The pictures help us understand and the picture give us common sense what the timing is.

persepolis blog number 1

I’m doing number 12,4and 1. The role of women in the story is very similar to what it always has which is very “low” or looks down on. An example in the story is the maid. She is in a low social class so that makes her not able to date or married any other class beside lower class or just as equal to her. But the men they don’t really seems to matter on what social class they want to married to because in the story they actually give the boy that liked the maid an chances to see if he wants to married her even though she is in a lower social class. Another example is Marji’s mother, how when every women is suppose to or is order to wear the veil and her mother didn’t wear it, the men in the streets treated her like a slut or a whore. They told her that she should become one and get though in the street after getting raped or doing sexual activities. In this case women are never really equal to men. The women has to wear a veil without no hair or skin showing if no one doesn’t follow they get to do whatever to that women. But as for men they had almost freedom to anything because all they had to do is wear long sleeve shirt, tuck in their shirt and have beard or cannot shave. To me, their rules are not fair because the women had to suffer from the heat with the veil they wear but the men don’t suffer so much heat as the women do. I think they should just have everyone wear the veil doesn’t matter what the gender is. Another example is when the girl who likes to wear miniskirt up to her thighs or showing her thighs they treat her or make her seems really bad. But if a men use to wear short sleeves and do not have beards hey seems to be okay before all the control had take over. Persepolis is an organized and structure by history, present, religion and past the drawing really gives you a good idea how the setting takes place. The drawing makes you understand the text more also makes the story more interesting. Like how every women and men has to dress like when the people were taking over. Where the woman has to wear veil and the men have beards and wear long sleeve. (Page 75) also it has the modern and fundamentalist way of clothes wearing. I think that this book is so popular because it had great meaning of the Iran people. She had great details from history, religious and the main character’s personal life. It’s just not about history or personal life or religious only it had mixture of it. Maybe that is one reason why it is so popular. Also another reason might is the author knows how to switch the ideas and points around to make it interesting and still also realistic. Now people now understand why the Iran women have to wear a veil. This story had a clear understandable about the women had to wear the veil all the time. i haven't read any other graphics memories but i read regular manga comic book and they bot are different and sinilar in some ways. the drawings and wrting is very sinilar but the reading is kind of different. i think persepolis compare to other books it is a very great book. i like the book,it's very interesting and funny. It's not just about the funny but it has funny facts in it. which makes the reading very interesting. i wouldn't knowwhere to place the book in the book store. but i think i woulod put it in the history section because history books are very boring to me. so if i put the book there ot makes the history a bit more interesting because it's a graphic novel.

Visual Essay

My theme is consumerism. Everyone seems to buy what the ad tells you to. Also everyone seems listen to the ads and commercials. The unnecassery stuff that we don't need we think we need and we just let the commercials carry us away with it. In the book most people listen to their feed and buy what ever the feeds tell them to buy. Like the bird that does not even fly or do anything everyone has it, Titus's little brother and Marty all have one of the bird.

All the things that we buy it either from T.V or ads on the newspaper. And this is an example of being consumerism because the company of the products made advertisments and they show it out to make people interested in the stuff. Like this shampoo for us hmong people the parents and grandparents wants their daughters to have long and black hair. And if our grandparents see this comercial they would want to buy it because it makes our hair silky black and long. Also to put it in "Feed" then our grandparent's feed would have this play over and over again. So this an way to get consumer to buy their stuff.

Prom Dress!! isnt pretty?

I choose this picture because in consumerism you would want something that is like just newly invented. And this pictures is like girls with 2009 spring dresses. The influence was to get those dresses and you'll look the best.

My message in this video is when everyone consume they buy the new things that was just out. In this video they have music and everyone should know and see if they like it then buy it. Like in the "Feed" Titus's feed was giving him a new song that he might like.

Prom Dress!! isnt pretty?

What i feel in this picture is that i have alot of options to buy what kind of colors i want to buy. Also for consumerism they have variety things to you could choose from.

What i ahve use of or undersanding of the values is that a better an newer car could last longer and go faster. Their importance and influence is that the newer the better. Also that is we buy the car it we will never regret that we bought the car because it will satisfied us.What had made me influence in these stuff is T.V and internet. They woould have commercial on T.V and pops on the internet.

prompt 2

Violet's father is studying the dead language because he had notice that the real languagehad disappare and sooner or later no one is not going to know how to communicate by talking. also you can start to see that people are losing thier original or natural knownledge that they had because everyone was so surprise when they saw Violet writing and  holding a pencil. So maybe Violet's father had notice and he's maybe scared that everyone would eventually died and didn't notice that they are being taken over by this chip called feed inside their mind. Also if Violet's father study the dead language he could tell or teaches again to other people and then soon people wouldn't depend on the feed to much anymore. Tutis concept of love is different from Violet by he doesn't seems to be that serious inlove as much as Violet. Violet never had someone right beside her and make her feel those special feelings. For Titushe had experience and he seems to be or could control himself and not to be so inlove. They both are going the same direction but Titus's love isn't as string or serious as Violet. Over the course of the book ther eis sometimes she was accuse by many people but i don't relly think that she is wrong at all. Because like when she went to Titus house and had dinner the conversation about the trees and air factory. It was true about what she says, that the tree helps us breathe or give us oxygen and not the air factory. But everyone seems to be blinded by the feed that they don't know what's right anymore.

Prompt 1

"We went to the moon to have fun, but the moon turned out to completely suck" It set-up the novel by giving the reader a clue that the time or at the moment they have really good technology. And that the moon is something for young teens to go have fun. It also makes the novel seems interesting and makes the reader question, what is the moon. On the moon. for me it seems like it's a place for teenagers to go have fun, like at a club. On the moon people spend a alot of money to go on there but Titus seems to go there to much that he doesn't enjoy it anymore. For Violet it's her first time being there and she is taking observation. I think it's a popoular destination for young people because there is a lot of clubs and hotel. Which young people could go and have some fun. I think the Interludes between some chapters of the book represent the comercials or acvertisments that the feed give to the people. So it's like whenever they get to some where that thier porfilio has and the advertsiment show up on the feed and the people see it. Also it tries to make them buy them if they do like them. So bascially they are being control by the feed on what they want and like.
