persepolis blog number 2

This blog is on number 13,14,and 15.

The role of religion in persepolis is really big and strong. Religion is like the main thing in Persepolis. Religion define certain characters in the book because some certain people doesn't believe it or don't want to do it but because of thier religion they have to do it. In Persepolis  religion is really strong because they only see religion as one thing. They don't really care about other stuff accpet religion. For me or Hmong culture we use to have a rule within ourbelieve that if a girl goes out to late with her boyrfriend or a guy friend, that's against our religion, then she has to married him no  matter if they are datng or not. In the old days that rule was really strong among us. It's just like how in Persepolis they have to wear the veil. But it the boys goes out late he doesn't het anything accpet maried that girl he take out. The boys have more options to marry a lot of wives. I think that the author is making social comentary on fundamentalism. Satrapi is saying that individual they don't want believe in the religion that they have to believe or do it but in society they have too. Persepolis is  telling a story and commenting the importance of our lives by making the story interesting and also add comments on the dialogue. That makes hte sotry makes more sense and more interesting. The book suggest the shapes by having part of the story and comments that part of the life and then turn into an experience. In Persepolis the stories in there are really realistic and understandable.  Like how Uncle Anoosh's story, he did a lot of stuff that someone at the moment of time would do too. Also her parents, is also realistic, there's people who is reporters and go see what is going on. It's cool how she begins in her child hood and then goes on as a teen. Also it has a good background of her history of being an Iran girl. The relationship between past and present is good because she doesb't get you confuse on the storyline. Some story they don't really have an clear undertsand on the transition on past and present. Maybe the story makes sense and easy to understand because it's a graphic novel. The pictures help us understand and the picture give us common sense what the timing is.
